Absolutely brilliant. I have been waiting for this since I lost starry night on my computer. Fantastic app for such a great low price
Awesome!
Highly recommended
very cool and helpful
It is handy to have for planning when I am not near my desktop computer, and helpful in the moment while stargazing and looking for other objects than what I wrote down. The coordinates are available for more objects than I will ever see. It shortcuts the time in finding a specific object using the compass feature. I needed the ability to find Polaris through trees, rooftops, and other obstacles so I can properly align my equatorial mount and the search/locate feature does that. I suggest reading the user manual and FAQ on their website to get the most from the app. I find certain display items like the equatorial plane, merdian, and RA/Decl grid very helpful, and the red screen is a MUST HAVE item. I also love the ability to change the time reference. If my scope was a GOTO, I would use the scope controls. You get an awful lot for this inexpensive app, made by the same company that does the phenomenal Starry Night desktop/ laptop software. It is worth the money.
My goto app for astronomy. Love it!!
They have provided a revised version of the app that no longer crashes under ios 8 (at least on the iPad). Thank you!
Very nice, highly recommended.
Great APP Very helpful and educational
Doesnt seem to want to follow phone movement very long and usually shuts down in less than a minute.
This is a very well crafted application. Beyond the photo-realistic sky that it presents, the Plus version allows me to control my iOptron telescope using a wireless connection! A very feature-rich application that is easy to use. Five stars!
I was a big fan of Voyager, the ancestor if SkySafari. I use SS for planning observing sessions, creating observing lists, and telescope control of the Sky-Watcher SynScan telescopes I have access to. Very satisfied!
Amazing tool for amateur astronomers! Very usefull to plan your night of observations.
Best astronomy app, A+++
Great app but planets are not visible even its selected "on". This is happened after ios 8 updates. Will it be fixed? (iphone 5)
Nice app but often screen freezes when I change map magnitude on my iPad mini with iOS 7.0.4. Stars map remains still, just menu works a bit. I have to kill SkySafari 4 plus and run it again.
The iPad and SkySafari makes the most convenient combination at the telescope during the observation. The retina display and careful balance of the automatic screen luminosity do not even require to use red screen to save the night vision. Also the planning of the observations is very easy with the lists of your objects.
I can no longer use the compass feature after the latest update that "improves" compass function.
Every imaginable feature seems available in clear and obvious for functionality. I would appreciate more direct and continuous control over forward and backward time. I cant think of anything else to complain about.
